WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki was re-discovered from ancient Sanskrit texts by the Japanese Dr. Mikao Usui in the late 1800s and was officially founded in 1911. Due to the founder's background, reiki mainly has Japanese and Buddhist roots, although reiki is not confined to any religious practice.
Reiki is a Japanese word and pronounced ‘ray-key’, ‘rei’ is defined as life-giving and ‘ki’ is defined as energy or ‘chi’. Therefore Reiki is universal life-giving energy and can be used for all ages, purposes, conditions, and situations.
Reiki is an alternative healing therapy that essentially works to harmonize, balance and restore the flow of energy to the meridians and main energy points throughout the body.
HOW DOES REIKI WORK?
Reiki works by entering the recipient into a deep state of relaxation by channeling life force energy into the body. Ultimately, reiki raises conscious awareness by removing trapped energy blockages in every area of your being. Most blockages often stem from childhood so reiki is highly beneficial for anyone with a history of mental or physical illness, survivors of trauma, domestic violence or abuse.
CAN REIKI CAUSE ANY HARM?
No. Due to the gentle and simplistic nature of reiki, it does not cause any harm. Reiki energy always works for the highest good of all involved and there are no recorded cases of reiki causing any adverse effects.
